Fair Time In North Idaho

Fair Time!

Here in Northern Idaho, the Fair just ended. It was a busy and fun five days!  The weather was perfect and reminded us all how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful place. There were a huge variety of hand crafts entered at the fair- amazing quilts, beautiful crochet, hand spun yarn, and lots of gorgeous knitted items. Alpaca Direct had the opportunity to sponsor part of the knitting department this year.

ribbons

These are the awards for First Place Novice Knitter and Second Place Novice Knitter. This year we have been committed to teaching people to knit, so it's entirely appropriate that we were able to sponsor special awards to new knitters. We congratulate them on their awards and on the fact that they had the confidence to enter their projects.

Our staff entered projects, too.

sweater

This sweater was knitted by a staff member at Alpaca Direct. She has a weakness for Malabrigo yarns. Made from Malabrigo Rios Color #855 Aguas, Pattern is Flyaway Hoodie.  Check out the fun Natural Beach Stone Buttons, too! She may have entered six projects, three of which were made from Malabrigo Yarn :-)
