We are basking in the glory of our new yarn, Sasquatch by Coeur d'Alene Yarns, so I thought I'd put it together with a gorgeous free shawl pattern, Sarabande by Jana Markova.

Isn't it wonderful?

I chose this pattern because it's a perfect project for Sasquatch, with its coordinating color combinations. Sarabande is written for three colors of yarn, but two would work just as well. You would need one skein of the color for the lace pattern and three skeins for the main color.

Here are three palettes that would work up beautifully.

This combo offers high contrast because Hunky Scotsman is so much darker than Silversmith, but both include that lovely light gray.

This is my favorite for Sarabande, because it's so autumnal. Sunrise in the Meadow combines all of my favorite fall colors, including gold, umber, blue, and green; Nessy is just that perfect muted green that goes with everything. I can't imagine how beautiful this pairing would be!

This palette is wintery goodness: Naughty Lumberjack has those cool blues and whites with some warming golds and reds thrown in, and Emerald Loch is all shivery blue and silver. Such a fabulous look for winter accessorizing!

I can't think of a better project to cast on in the cooling days of autumn.

Cheers,
