"Dos Tierras" means two lands, which represents the source of each of the fibers in this wonderful yarn: 50% of Uruguayan Merino wool with 50% Peruvian baby alpaca.

A DK weight yarn, Dos Tierras is beautiful and versatile. Its great stitch definition and drape make it perfect for accessories, cable work, lace knitting, and all kinds of stitch patterns.

Dos Tierras is kettle dyed, resulting in semi-solid and variegated colors in a wide array of stunning shade options.

Texture: 4 ply, plied
Yardage/Meters:210 (193m)
Skein weight: 100 grams
Gauge: 20-22 sts = 4 inches
Recommended needle size: 5-6 / 3.75-4.0 mm
Recommended hook size: US I-9 to K-10/12 or 5.5-6.5 mm
Content: 50% Merino wool, 50% baby alpaca
Care: Hand wash, cold water, dry flat

I will knit ‘sleep socks’ i.e. bed socks for cancer patients and the elderly, who always have cold feet which keeps them awake. You fall asleep 30% faster and stay in a deeper sleep when your feet are warm. I want to help people live feeling happier, and I LOVE this yarn!!

Dos Tierras is a gorgeous yarn and Anniversario is one of my favorite Malabrigio colors. I would pair this color with a shade of grey to make a shawl with some alternate striping and a lace trim.

I was looking for Dos Tierras at Stitches West as a friend was telling me about it, but no one had any I could find! So glad to know where it is. Anniversario is a gorgeous color! I’ve been making cowls lately, designing my own with textures I like, and they have been in fingering weight. It would be lovely to work in DK.
