Our wonderful accountant Melanie was just blessed with a new Grand Baby. Addison was a 10 pound bundle of Joy!  Grandma has been knitting fast and furious trying to knit her grand baby a wonderful reversible baby blanket from 100% Superwash merino wool.

I promised I would work on hats, booties, a bonnet, and nice little Mary Jane slippers.  I have come up with a pattern for Mary Janes using an aran weight yarn that is knit from the bottom up with no left or right foot and no button holes to worry about.

With Judy's Magic cast on and Jeny's stretchy bind off and using the magic loop method (with ChiaoGoo circular needles) for two at a time slippers, you can be done with this nifty little project before your favorite late night show is over!  I have knit this pattern with different yarns such as pure alpaca, Malabrigo Rios, and Aran weight Debbie Bliss to name a few.

The pattern had to be altered to accommodate the different types of yarn but all of the slippers turned out darling with almost instant gratification.  I hope you all have fun knitting this week.  I am off to finish my knit a sweater in 30 days this weekend so I'll post my accomplishments on that project next week.
