Join us for Michelle Hunter's Final Knit-Along!

Wed, Sep 25, 19

Yes, you read that right. Michelle is hosting her final knit-along, and we're so sad. But we want to keep our chins up and celebrate her wonderful KAL projects; boy have we had fun! Kelley knit up Match Play, a fabulous poncho:

And she finished Cable Channel, a mystery KAL that ended up being a beautiful pillow cover:

Michelle is actually taking a sabbatical to spend some time with her family, so she might be back, but for now, this will be her swan song. This KAL will be a mystery knit-along, and word on the street is that it'll be a shawl called Audition.

What's a Mystery Knit-Along?

Good question! A mystery KAL is so much fun, because you trust in the designer and cast on without knowing exactly what you're knitting. Usually you'll be told the type of project and a few details, but you don't know what it'll look like until you're done. That's the mystery part. Usually, as in the case with the Audition mystery KAL, a clue (which is part of the pattern) is released each week and you can expect to be able to complete that clue within the week, so you're ready for the next clue.

Like regular KALs, mystery KALs have a community aspect to them in the form of a Ravelry forum. Michelle will he hosting a forum for Audition on her Ravelry page.

Audition Mystery KAL Details

The first clue will be released on October 10, 2019. The shawl is named Audition because you'll be able to "audition" some new stitch patterns. Each part of the shawl will contain interesting stitches and Michelle will provide tips and tricks for each different pattern, including video tutorials.

Clues will be released on the Skacel KAL page and on Michelle's Ravelry page.
