I love to cheer on my favorite teams and decided to put together a  pattern for a team hat and cowl set using either Cascade 220 Peruvian Highland Wool or the Cascade 220 Superwash (throw it in the regular washing machine and you're good to go).  Since we carry over 200 colors in Cascade 220 wools anyone can choose a color combination for their favorite sport and team. I was thinking that I would like to come up with a nice cabled or lace pattern and then I thought  "What is our Goal"?  We want a team scarf or cowl that is warm and stylish and is made quickly because we need one for each family member and it must have the team colors to show our team spirit.  For versatility, I  decided to make the scarf or cowl pattern  reversible (ie same pattern on each side) and created a style made for men (scarf) or women (scarf or cowl) with a cute hat to match. The hat is knit on a little smaller needle to make it nice and warm for the person wearing the hat.  The  Cowl or Scarf is knit on larger needles to give the end product a nice bouncy or squishy feeling.  I created a pattern that would use just 2 skeins of Cascade 220  yarn with little to no left overs and the pattern that you see here is what I came up with.   Our beginning knitters love this pattern because they can do the hat, scarf and cowl with little or no help at all!  They can feel good about being able to finish a project in a relatively short amount of time while having fun and learning some new techniques along the way!Download Team Cowl and Hat Pattern for a no-nonsense printable pattern.Purchase our Kit!
