Collect your favorite DK and worsted weight yarns and knit the brioche blanket of your dreams. Begin with an I-cord cast on and work the briochevron stitch while you imagine your next striping sequence. The sample shows mostly speckled colors for the foreground (MC) and mostly solid color pops for the background (CC). Only one strand of yarn is changed at a time for a gradual overlapping color effect. Bundle yourself in brioche and enjoy your new knitting blanket!

  • Yarn: DK or Worsted weight
  • Yardage: The sample blanket weighs 2075g and used approximately 4700yds / 4298m of yarn total. Yardage amounts will vary depending on yarn type, gauge, and finished blanket length. Gather approximately 2000-2400yds / 1829-2195m for both the MC & CC to achieve a blanket of similar size.
  • Shown in: A variety of hand dyed wools including Hedgehog Fibres Merino DK & Merino Aran, Madelinetosh Tosh DK, DK Twist & Vintage, & House of A la Mode Dreamy DK Superwash.
  • Needles: 40” US 8 / 5mm circular
  • Notions: Tapestry needle
  • Gauge: 18 stitches and 14 rows = 4 inches in Briochevron stitch
