Samarran by Meghan Jones

  |

Beaded medallions worked in the round with vertical pillars of double yarn-overs border a simple diagonal lace center. Samarran was designed to evoke the curling script that adorns ornate desert buildings with glittering blue tiles in the bright sun.

GAUGE

PATTERN NOTES
The center of this shawl is begun with a provisional cast on and worked back and forth on the shorter circular needle as a restangle. When the length is complete, the stitches are left live and border stitches are picked up and worked along the other 3 remaining edges. The piece is then joined to be worked in the round with markers to indicate the square corner patterning sections.

*We recommend Blue Sky Alpacas Royal Petites (You will need 11 skeins for this project) or Berroco's Ultra Alpaca Fine (you will need 3 skeins for this project)*
